Over two thousand years ago in a small village in the Middle East, a man gave his life so that all of our sins could be forgiven. That man, of course, was Jesus Christ, the son of God, sent to Earth to redeem our souls. The events that occurred over the course of those final few days in Jesus’ life would change the world forever. It was such a cataclysmic event and held so much meaning that it changed the way we view our day to day lives. Just look at the calendar that you use to mark the passage of days: it starts with the very day that Jesus was resurrected and ascended to the Heavens.
Jesus performed many miracles in his time: from turning water to wine and healing the sick. But none of those miracles could amount to his final one, as he rose from the dead and took his rightful place amongst the firmaments. It was in this final act that allowed Jesus to absolve us of our sins and, just as important, proved to all of us – believer and non-believer alike – that he was, indeed, God in the flesh, who had come to make the ultimate sacrifice and save our eternal souls.
As Christians and God-fearing men and women, it is important that we remember that sacrifice. Not just for the world, but for ourselves as well. In the chaos of our daily lives, it can be difficult to remember that we are not alone in this world; it can be trying to put our best foot forward day after day when it often feels like the world is out to get us and it can be all-too-easy to slip into hopelessness. But in those moments, thanks to that sacrifice made 2,000 years ago, we can take a step back and take strength in the fact that there is an ultimate wisdom guiding our paths and that what we view as a rocky road is nothing more than the start of a journey leading to something wondrous and life-changing.
We welcome all residents of North Georgia – including Cumming, Johns Creek, Alpharetta and the surrounding areas – to come join us for our holiday worship and Easter Service this April 1st, beginning at 10 a.m. Join fellow Christians as we remember the story of Resurrection Sunday and and receive a special message on this holiest of days. Afterwards, we will engage in some fun activities, include a 3,000 count egg hunt for children (ranging from babies to 5th graders) and capture memories from the day in a photo booth. Grand prizes will be awarded and great fun will be had, as we gather for our annual Easter Service.
The event is free and is a great opportunity for families to mingle in the “Christian community”, all while having your faith in the Lord rejuvenated. Come join us for this holiday worship and be reminded of why Easter is such an important part of our timeless tradition.
